REPORTEnterprise 2.0 in Germany -- Prevalence, opportunities and challenges
(11/2007)
Target GroupThe study supports corporate decision makers in planning Enterprise 2.0 concepts and technologies. SummaryThe study commissioned by CoreMedia delivers a snapshot of the state of Enterprise 2.0 in Germany. It is based on a representative survey among the management staff of 156 German companies from knowledge-intensive industries with more than 100 employees. Scope of the survey:
The results of the survey show, that there is still a lack of awareness and clarity concerning benefits of Enterprise 2.0. Only a fraction of the companies have implemented Web 2.0 applications like wikis, blogs or social networks company-wide or across departmental boundaries. Although around half of the respondents believe that Web 2.0 will be part of daily company business in the future, the concrete benefits for the companies are still unclear. Nearly 90 % of the respondents have experienced an increased demand for efficient collaboration and the exchange of knowledge. Many of them donīt feel adequately supported in this by their ITC. |
